Hiroshima Day remembrance service
Venue: Nelmes URC, Hornchurch RM11 3JA
This will be the 81st anniversary of the atomic bombings of Hiroshima and Nagasaki.
Nelmes URC in Hornchurch will be holding a commemoration for light and peace. A candle has been sent from Hiroshima which will be lit during the service, alongside a candle from Essex, for love and remembrance.

Bethnal Green Quakers invite you to join a regular Meeting for Worship, outdoors in Victoria Park, fortnightly during the summer.
This is from 7 - 8:30pm, for 45 mins of worship and 45 mins of tea and conversation.
● The meeting is for adults (aged 18 and over) and children accompanied by a parent, guardian or responsible adult.
● We’re outside on the grass so bring a rug/cushion/chair to sit on.
● Look for our sign. You’ll find us in a quiet spot on the long strip of grass running North East from the People’s Park Tavern to the Molesworth Gate at the North end of the park (the orange area in the map below).

We have received an email from a neighbour living in Walthamstow, sharing a concern about a central Quaker publication called Challenging antisemitism
This will be a Meeting to discuss our thoughts and feelings
about the guidance and the concerns raised in this correspondence. The aim is to discern how best to respond in a way that reflects our Quaker values of listening, openness and speaking honestly. All are welcome.

Quaker Silent Walking Vigil for Peace. Showing solidarity and care for everyone impacted by violence, conflict and war. Walk with us. Witness for peace.
Please sign up using the link below to receive full joining instructions.
The walk will start at Embankment Gardens in a section known as the MoD gardens (What 3 words ///relate.begun.upper) and ends in the courtyard behind St Martin in the Fields, walking quietly at a slow pace. Bring something to sit on, as there will be two Meetings for Worship.
Please try to arrive by 11.45am for a 12.00 noon start. The expected timeline is as follows:

12.15pm Words of welcome followed by silent reflection
12.40pm Leave Victoria Embankment Gardens
2.15pm Arrive at St Martin in the Fields for silent reflection and closing words
